The town of Sudbury is the birthplace of one of Britain’s most famous portrait artists, Thomas Gainsborough. In fact, the delightful scenery of Sudbury and its surrounds attracted many famous English painters to paint the river and landscape.

Hotel Elizabeth the Mill has 56, beautifully appointed rooms. Many of the rooms overlook the river, and each room is spacious and classically decorated.
