Aside from stunning scenery, there is plenty to do and see in Sudbury and the surrounding area.

Be sure to visit Gainsborough House in the town centre, birthplace if the famous painter. Here, you can learn about the life of Thomas Gainsborough and view a selection of his works.

The Quay Theatre in the town centre always has something to entertain, whether it’s plays, concerts or films.

The towns of Lavenham, under 10 kilometres away, and Long Melford, under 4 kilometres away are well worth a visit. Lavenham is an old wool producing town with a gallery in an 15th Century wool merchant’s house. Long Melford is known for its excellent antique shops, and the lovely Tudor family home of Melford Hall.

For visitors who enjoy a more active break, Foxearth Leisure is nearby. The facility specialises in fishing, but you can also partake in archery or airgun shooting.
